Franklin and Winston

(2003) Franklin and Winston: An Intimate Portrait of an Epic Friendship by Jon Meacham focuses on the parallels between these two world incredible men who led their respective countries through World War II.

I actually listened to the audiobook which was excellent. That can either be good news or bad news … Sometimes when I am reading a book I am too tempted to drift through certain chapters as quickly as I can. When I’m listening, I hear it all.

At the time this book was written, author Jon Meacham was the managing editor of Newsweek. Now it seems that he is executive editor and executive vice president at Random House.

How in the world did he find time to write this book?

Franklin and Winston were so important to what happened during those years. I thoroughly enjoyed their stories.

“No lover ever studied every whim of his mistress as I did those of President Roosevelt.” (Winston Churchill)
