Au revoir, les enfants, WWII Movie by Louis Malle
(1987) This French film was written, directed, and produced by Louis Malle (“Pretty Baby” 1978) who lived through a similar incident at a Catholic boarding school in occupied France during the war.
It haunted him for the rest of his life.
In English, the title is “Goodbye, Children.”
So Catholic. So wonderfully French.
