19 Jan The White Raven
(1998) The White Raven is the story of a huge Rothschild diamond lost during the Holocaust. Modern day journalist Tully Windsor (played by Ron Silver) finds himself entangled in the pursuit of this long lost treasure.
Some of the action will keep your attention if only to be amazed at how Tully survives it all. The ending is absolutely ludicrous. I hope.
The screenplay is based on a 1986 novel by Michael Blodgett. He wrote both. I could find no evidence of any Blodgett family connection to the Holocaust.
What I did find was that Michael was an actor turned novelist after he was no longer satisfied with the types of roles he was offered. Some of his credits include A Swingin’ Summer, Catalina Caper, The Velvet Vampire, and Beyond the Valley of the Dolls.
Would I recommend this movie? Oh maybe, but “with a grain of salt.”
