30 Aug Forced Landing Collection
I have just discovered a group of aviation historians and enthusiasts from Sweden who have created a website dedicated to the World War II forced landings there. The planes came primarily from Britain, Germany, and the U.S. but there were others too.
The goal of these historians is to create a permanent exhibition in Sweden of parts and gear from those airplanes in order to preserve what is left for the public to enjoy.
Just as important, they want their website to be a central place for eyewitness accounts. That interests me a lot!
The timing is critical because there are few eyewitnesses left from these events that happened over sixty years ago.
Visit the Forced Landing Collection at www.forcedlandingcollection.se. There is an English translation also.
