Without Love, WWII era romantic comedy starring Tracy & Hepburn
(1945) A romantic comedy starring Spencer Tracy (45 years old at the time) and Katharine Hepburn (33) who had been “an item” for three years. This was their third movie together. Also part of the cast was Lucille Ball who played a real estate agent!
Without Love had been a 1942 Broadway play written just for Hepburn, and she wanted it to be a movie so she could co-star with Tracy.
The WWII connection is weak. Tracy is a scientist working on an improved high-altitude oxygen mask. What the whole movie is based on is the ongoing repartee between the two stars, and I quickly tired of it.
My favorite scenes were those with Lucille Ball.
