27 Mar Axel Ljungdahl
General Axel Georg Ljungdahl served with the Swedish Air Force during World War II and was therefore very much involved with the Americans who were interned there.
Before the war, he had been the Swedish Air Attache in London from 1935 to 1936.
In 1955, he became the Chief of the Royal Swedish Air Force, replacing General Nordenskiöld, who had held that position since 1942. In October of that year, Ljungdahl visited the United States and visited several airbases.
In 1972, Ljungdahl wrote a book titled “En flygofficers minnen, etc” ( A Flight Officers Memories.)
According to Wikipedia, he received a doctorate in religious history in 1970 and obtained a theology degree in 1975.
