The Seventh Cross, WWII Movie starring Spencer Tracy
(1944) A haunting movie set in a German concentration camp in 1936.
The movie was based on a novel written in 1942 by a German anti-fascist author, Anna Seghers. Spencer Tracy and six others escape from the camp. As each man is caught, he is brought back to camp dead or alive and hung on one of seven crosses.
I did enjoy watching Hume Cronyn and Jessica Tandy. Already married, this was their first film together.
But it was Spencer Tracy’s movie.
