30 Dec Kelly’s Heroes
(1970) This movie was filmed during the Vietnam war and you can feel the antiwar cynicism.
I found this movie on a list of “Best World War II Movies” so I kept waiting for the good part. There was Don Rickles, sneering. Telly Savalas, shouting.
And Clint Eastwood, I thought, must have really wanted this movie to be a western. Their plan was to rob a bank, and the shootout could just have easily been on a street in the wild wild west.
