Paul J. Paterni in 1941
Paul J. Paterni was a good friend of Hedy’s that she met in Washington DC during her first years with the OSS.
Later she wrote on the back of this photo: Paul was with the “Secret Service and OSS. President Roosevelt called his mother upon Paul’s arrival in North Africa.”
After the war ended Paterni returned to the Secret Service. He was Deputy Chief of the Secret Service under President Kennedy and was very much involved in the investigations after the President was shot.
