30 May Men Must Fight
(1933) A nurse during the “War to End All Wars” becomes an anti-war activist after her pilot lover is killed in action. The movie Men Must Fight was based on a 1932 Broadway play.
Fast forward to 1940, and her now-grown son is faced with hard choices when war comes to the United States. What is interesting about this story is their vision of what war might be like. Manhattan is bombed, and the Empire State building falls to the ground.

New actor Robert Young played Diana Wynyard’s pilot. I was surprised to see how many movies he was in during the ’30’s.
In this LA Times article I was not just surprised but shocked to learn that in 1991 he tried to commit suicide.
