Tomorrow, the World!

Today Germany, tomorrow the world! ~Heir Hitler
Tomorrow - the World!

Tomorrow – the World! starring Fredric March and Agnes Moorehead

(1944) A young German boy who has been indoctrinated in the Nazi culture comes to America to live with his uncle’s family. Tomorrow, the World! is based on the 1943 Broadway play of the same name. The same young actor, Skip Homeier, starred in both productions.

It’s an interesting look at how we in America viewed Hitler’s brainwashing of the young Germans.  It was fairly accurate.  Americans could see how difficult it might be to change the minds of those who grew up and accepted the Nazi regime.

Our young man didn’t respond to anything reasonable.  Kind explanations went in one ear and out the other. It wasn’t until his uncle got really mad, had the police standing outside the door, and throttled him that  he began to listen.

At least we think he listened.
