Imitation General, WWII Movie starring Glenn Ford

(1958) After he realizes that they are surrounded by Germans a Sergeant imitates a General in order to motivate a small group of soldiers to organize an attack.

This really is a silly movie … not a comedy … just silly.

The best part was Red Buttons as Glenn Ford’s sidekick. This was one of his early movies. He had performed on Broadway before the war. Then after he was drafted he appeared in an Army Air Forces Broadway show.

Bear in mind they got the season wrong in the script, the short story was set in the Winter of the Bulge…add snow and picture a MAJOR German push with over 25 divisions..

Thank you so much for your comment. I’m always interested in how the movie compares to what really happened!
