Lifecruiser Travel

Fårö is the tiny island just north of the Swedish island of Gotland. In this map you can see its relationship to Stockholm, just north.

One recent morning when I opened my email, out of the blue there was a message from Lifecruiser Travel, an international travel blog! Lifecruiser is written by a Swedish couple who travel all over the world, taking amazing photographs everywhere they go. They live in Stockholm but visit Gotland every year.  Gotland, of course, is the island where the B-17 Liberty Lady belly landed on March 6, 1944.

Amazingly, the “Captain” of Lifecruiser saw my Liberty Lady site and invited me to write a summary of the Liberty Lady’s Gotland connection. It was posted today!

I have spent a lot of time exploring their travel site. Of course I am most interested in anything about Stockholm and Gotland. One of their favorite destinations is Fårö, a tiny island just north of Gotland. It was also the favorite spot of world renowned Swedish filmmaker Ingmar Bergman. Here is the post Lifecruiser wrote the day after Bergman died, on Fårö, in 2007.

Lots more to explore. I particularly appreciate that they asked readers who may have information about what it was like to be in Gotland or Sweden “back then” to contribute.

THANKS for the connection!

You’re welcome :-) It’s our pleasure! We were very excited over finding your site – it’s amazing work you already have done with this book project and we’re just lucky to get to read about it. Very fascinating!

We have of course had a look around and read many of your other posts here- all equally interesting – and we will continue to keep an eye for new posts!

Everyone with the slightest interest of World War II should too!!!!

    Thanks x 100,
    Bo
