Shutter Island
Shutter Island, a movie starring Leonardo DiCaprio
(2010) Okay, okay … it’s not a World War II movie (the story takes place in 1954) but there are flashbacks to when the main character (played by Leonardo DiCaprio) was a soldier whose unit liberated a Nazi concentration camp.
I was drawn to these scenes because it is what happened to my father-in-law during the war. He could never speak of it.
As for Shutter Island, I was on the edge of my seat for the entire movie, and I shrieked out loud at the end.
